What Are In-Person Seminars?
For Acu-Current trainees interested in hands-on learning, Dr. Finkelstein frequently offers in-person seminars where participants can learn the Acu-Current method in a practical format. Training includes Blended Learning. See next FAQ.
What is Blended Learning?
The In-Person Seminars feature a new state of the art learning method – blended learning. This combines online study with live practical training. Students study the material on the website prior to the in-person class. This gives students an opportunity to engage in more hands-on practice and instruction directly with Dr. Finkelstein. The in-person training is primarily practical – practice sessions with review Q & A. To ensure the quality of the seminar, we ask that all students study the online seminar prior to the in-person seminar.
Where Are In-Person Seminars Held?
Seminars are held in Portland, Eugene, and Springfield, Oregon, and are offered twice per year.

How does Acu-Current Therapy work?
Acu-Current Therapy releases tight muscles, restrictions in the joints, and muscle adhesions using a gentle electrical microcurrent. Acu-Current Therapy combines this with the treatment of specific points in the muscles, ligaments, tendons, and fascia, a hand-held and highly effective microcurrent device, body positioning, acupressure stretch techniques, and patient education on self-care after treatment to obtain long-term results. Learn more about Acu-Current Therapy and how it is effective for treating most pain conditions.

How was Acu-Current Therapy Developed?
Acu-Current Therapy is a new treatment method drawn from Dr. Finkelstein’s clinical experience and study over nearly four decades. It synthesizes techniques and theory drawn from acupuncture and Oriental medicine; acupressure methods including Jin Shin Do, shiatsu, tuina; qigong; the bodywork of Lauren Berry, PT; osteopathy; and microcurrent electrical treatment.
Assessment, treatment and patient education are all integral pieces of this system. Assessment combines postural and structural analysis with Oriental medicine theory to help direct the treatment. Read more about the Acu-Current system.
